In October, the Peero team attended the Unleash World 2024 conference in Paris, which brought together thousands of HR professionals from around the world. Over the course of two days, participants had the opportunity to listen to inspiring presentations, explore the latest technological solutions, and discuss how human resource management is adapting to the digital age.<\/p>\n

Here are the key insights and sources of inspiration from Unda (Product Owner), Art\u016brs (CEO), and Ilona (Customer Success Specialist) during this event.<\/p>\n

Talent Management in the Digital Age \u2013 Humanity as the Foundation<\/strong>
\nUnda attended the keynote speech on the first day, delivered by Peter Hinssen from Nexxworks, which conveyed a clear message: although HR is evolving into a fully digital industry, people remain irreplaceable. Hinssen emphasized that future talent management and digital tools must be built around human needs, not just technological capabilities. Drew Fernandez from Coca-Cola also shared his insights on balancing a company’s core values with modern HR solutions, stressing that digital innovations should be used to enhance corporate culture, not replace it.
\nArt\u016brs noted that the current situation was aptly characterized by the words of an unnamed author heard during one of the presentations: \u201cHumans are still the lowest cost all-purpose non-linear computer systems that can be mass-produced by unskilled labor.<\/p>\n

Artificial Intelligence \u2013 Indispensable Support, But Not the Only Solution<\/strong>
\nAt the Expo section, there was an opportunity to explore a variety of HR tools that utilize artificial intelligence. Some of the most interesting insights related to AI solutions that customize training content for each employee, even incorporating game elements. Each member of the Peero team noted and highlighted an interesting AI tool that generates employee training content, allowing employees to participate in interactive “learning missions.”
\nIlona attended a panel discussion in which representatives from several global companies spoke about promoting inclusive culture. AI was also regularly mentioned in these discussions, and while many companies express concerns about the use of generative AI due to data security issues, L\u2019Or\u00e9al has created L\u2019Or\u00e9al GPT, which allows employees to leverage generative AI benefits without risk to the company.
\nMany opinions expressed at the conference emphasized that HR leaders must balance technology with human resource management. While AI helps manage large data volumes and executes repetitive tasks more quickly, it should serve as support rather than a replacement when it comes to fostering trust and a sense of belonging within teams. Ultimately, human resources are about relationships, and AI should be used to strengthen rather than replace these connections.<\/p>\n

The Age of Authenticity \u2013 Human Connection as the Foundation of Leadership<\/strong>
\nAnother session that received particular recognition from Art\u016brs was \u201cThe Age of Authenticity,\u201d featuring Peter Lynch as the main speaker. Lynch presented his unique leadership approach \u2013 the U.G.L.Y. methodology \u2013 emphasizing that excellence arises from authenticity and transparency, especially in today\u2019s dynamic work environment. His approach has earned widespread recognition in the U.S., evidenced by a publishing contract with McMillan for both a printed and Audible audiobook version narrated by Lynch himself.<\/p>\n

\nOne unique insight from the conference was that while many companies focus on material rewards for employee recognition, our approach emphasizes the power of non-material recognition. We believe that a heartfelt thank you and positive feedback from colleagues fosters a far deeper sense of belonging and loyalty than any bonus program. This conference reaffirmed that we are on the right track in creating a solution focused on strengthening human relationships.<\/p>\n

Final Thought<\/strong>
\nUnleash World 2024 left a strong impression and offered numerous ideas on how to enhance Peero and the HR industry as a whole. Digital innovations are undeniably important, but our main takeaway is that HR solutions will only succeed if they complement and support the human aspect, rather than replace it.
\nAttending this conference also provided us with a fantastic opportunity to introduce Peero to a wider audience and receive valuable feedback from various perspectives. It confirmed that we have a unique offering: many of the solutions demonstrated at the conference focused on material components of employee recognition, such as bonuses and personalized benefits. While Peero also encompasses material recognition, it primarily focuses on non-material recognition, reaching a higher level in Maslow’s pyramid. We believe that employee recognition is most effectively reinforced through a sincere \u201cthank you\u201d from colleagues, managers, or subordinates for everyday contributions. This fosters a sense of belonging and loyalty that cannot be replaced with gift cards, company logo t-shirts, or even 10% salary increases.<\/p>\n
