Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what Peero stores on your device when you visit peero.app, why we store it, and how you stay in control of it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy — linked at the foot of this page and in the footer of every page — which covers everything else we do with personal data.

It is based on Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation) and on the national rules implementing Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive), which require your consent before anything that is not strictly necessary is placed on your device.

What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep, and that the browser sends back on your next visit. It is how a site remembers something between page loads — that you are signed in, which language you chose, what you put in your cart.

Local storage works the same way from your point of view: the data is kept in your browser, on your device, until it is cleared. The legal duty to tell you about it and to ask before using it for anything non-essential is the same, so this policy lists both. Where an entry is local storage rather than a cookie, it is labelled as such.

The two categories we use

Necessary. Storage the site cannot work without: your sign-in session, the contents of your cart, the language you picked, and the record of the cookie choices you made. It is set by Peero, it is never shared with anyone, it is never used to profile you, and it cannot be switched off — without it there is no working site to browse. Under the ePrivacy rules this category is strictly necessary and does not require your consent.

Analytics. Google Analytics 4, which tells us which pages are read and where people get stuck so we can fix what does not work. We look at it in aggregate and do not use it to identify you. This category is optional and is used only if you allow it.

We do not use advertising, marketing or profiling cookies, we do not run cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers.

Your consent, and what happens when you decline

On your first visit we ask before anything optional is used. Until you answer, only the necessary category is active.

If you decline analytics, Google's script is never loaded at all: no request is made to Google, no third-party cookie is set, and your IP address is never disclosed to them. This is stricter than switching a tag to a "limited" mode — a "no" means nothing leaves your browser. If you had previously allowed analytics and then withdraw it, the Google cookies already on your device are deleted when you save the change.

Your answer is kept in a first-party cookie for 6 months, which is the retention EU data-protection authorities recommend for a consent record. After that we ask again. We also ask again if the categories or the third parties behind them change, so a stored "yes" never quietly starts covering something you were not told about.

Analytics in more detail

Analytics is provided by Google Analytics 4, operated for users in Europe by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google acts as our processor for this data and may transfer it outside the EU/EEA under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

IP addresses are truncated by Google Analytics 4 before storage and are not available to us. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features or data sharing with Google's advertising products. Content embedded from other services

A few pages can open content hosted elsewhere — for example a Microsoft Power BI report shown inside our product pages. That content loads only when you open it, and while it is open the provider may set cookies of its own under its own policy. We do not control those cookies. Closing the embedded view stops any further loading from that provider.

How to change or withdraw your choice

Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page, or the button on this page, to reopen the cookie window. You can change any optional category there, and the change takes effect immediately — there is nothing to confirm by e-mail and no account needed.

You can also manage cookies in the browser itself: every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies for a site, and clear its local storage. Blocking necessary storage will stop parts of the site from working — you will not stay signed in, your cart will not survive a reload, and we will have to ask about cookies again on every page.

Changes to this policy

When we add a category, change what we store, or change who processes it, we update this page and ask everyone for consent again. The date below always reflects the current version.
