4finance “People Awards”

Every year, 4finance organizes the “People Awards” – an employee recognition campaign that highlights and rewards those who positively impact the company with their work and attitude. Employees from Latvia, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic participate in the campaign, and both management and staff are involved in the voting process, ensuring a broader and more objective view of the most outstanding colleagues.

Traditionally, the campaign took place in two stages. First, the nomination phase, where employees’ performance and contributions were evaluated to identify potential “People Awards” candidates. Second, the voting phase, where each employee could vote for the nominated colleagues. While this approach ensured a thorough candidate evaluation, it required a significant time investment.

 

Using Peero in the “People Awards” Campaign

In 2019, 4finance used Peero for the first time to organize the campaign, and in 2024, it was reintroduced for organizing the “People Awards” campaign because Peero provided:

  • Simplified and more efficient campaign management – the HR team could independently manage the process without IT support.
  • Resource savings – nomination submission and voting were combined into a single step.
  • Greater engagement – employees could vote for colleagues outside their direct teams and highlight the “Silent Heroes,” or quiet but valuable employees.

Most importantly – this campaign provided an opportunity for everyone to receive positive feedback and praise from both colleagues and management.

 

Campaign Implementation and Employee Engagement

“Since it was important for us to identify 4finance’s value ambassadors, or the winners of each category, we used Peero’s core module, which includes sending and receiving recognition, without activating features like the gift store, Peero achievements, or Peero challenges,” says Astere.

Employees were informed about the use of the Peero platform via an email notification inviting them to install the app. Approximately 200 employees were invited to participate in the campaign, and more than 50% of them actively participated in the voting.

The company’s management, including the CEO, actively participated by sending recognition and motivating employees to engage. Winners were determined based on the number of votes received and alignment with 4finance’s five core values: We put people first, We strive for excellence, We keep things simple, We act responsibly, We are entrepreneurial, and “Guiding Star” principles.

The “Guiding Star” nomination embodies all five of 4finance’s core values, and its winner symbolizes excellence, the practical application of values in daily work, and inspires others with their attitude, initiative, and positive impact on the company culture.

 

Award ceremony

End-of-the-year events are organized separately in each country to ensure that every employee can participate and celebrate together with colleagues. However, the “People Awards” winners were honored at the central event, with a live broadcast provided for employees in other countries, allowing everyone to take part and witness the celebratory moment.

 

Recommendations for Other Companies Planning to Use Peero

“It is important to ensure clear and diverse communication about the use of the platform, for example, by using online meetings and video tutorials. In my opinion, this approach would encourage greater employee engagement,” concludes Astere.

Conclusion: Peero helped 4finance make the “People Awards” campaign more efficient and transparent while providing valuable insights for future improvements. Overall, with some adjustments and improvements in the approach, Peero campaigns are an excellent tool that 4finance could use again, ensuring that within the “People Awards” framework, every employee feels valued and receives recognition from both colleagues and management.
