How Peero Helped Foster a More Positive Work Environment
In 2024, Grindeks launched a three-month employee engagement campaign in collaboration with Peero. The aim of this initiative was to introduce employees to the power of appreciation in everyday work life, while also serving as a “warm-up phase” ahead of the implementation of a new evaluation system.
“Thank You” as the Foundation of a Shared Culture
At the heart of the campaign was the Peero platform – a digital tool that makes expressing gratitude easy, enjoyable, and visible. All employees were encouraged to participate, including both office and production staff. As Grindeks representative Mārtiņš explains, it was important to tailor the approach to different employee groups, taking into account their digital skills and work environments.
An Innovative Approach to Employee Engagement
To encourage participation on the Peero platform, several convenient and creative solutions were implemented:
- QR codes were placed in shared areas, allowing employees to easily access the platform and send thank-you notes.
- Campaign information was displayed on digital screens and shared via the intranet, especially useful for production staff who regularly access these channels to manage absences.
- Shared computers were made available, giving employees the chance to send and read messages of appreciation during their breaks.
This strategic approach resulted in active participation across all company levels, strengthening team spirit and enhancing everyday positivity.
Campaign Highlight – The “Thank You” Celebration
The Peero campaign concluded with a celebratory event where employees were recognized in several categories:
- Top Points Leader – the employee who received the highest number of recognition points;
- Peero Unity Index Leader – the colleague with the most widespread collaboration network;
- Value Ambassadors – employees who best embodied each of the company’s core values.
These moments helped reinforce a workplace culture where recognition, mutual respect, and positive communication are part of daily life.
Why Peero?
Mārtiņš emphasizes that such a campaign would not have been possible using only the newly introduced evaluation system, as it lacks a built-in model for spontaneous peer-to-peer recognition. While it serves well for annual evaluations, it isn’t suited for organizing interactive campaigns like the “Thank You” celebration.
In contrast, Peero offers a platform where:
- Recognition becomes a natural, visible, and celebratory experience;
- Participation is simple – saying “thank you” is quick, enjoyable, and engaging;
- Positive energy is spread throughout the organization.
